Yalke Green Dress

The Yalke Green Dress is a vibrant piece inspired by the rich beauty of Australian wetlands and the stories woven through Aboriginal artwork by artist June Smith. Featuring artwork that reflects the birds, vegetation, waterholes, and seasonal changes found within the Yalke wetlands, this dress invites imaginative play, storytelling, and self-expression while supporting EYLF outcomes for wellbeing, belonging, identity, and creativity.

Each dress is thoughtfully sewn by a collective of artisans in Indonesia who work within a nurturing, community-led cooperative built on empowerment, kindness, collaboration, and sustainable creativity. The cooperative provides meaningful opportunities for women — including single mothers, survivors of domestic violence, and those living with physical challenges — creating a space where slow, intentional craft supports both healing and independence.

Every artisan involved is a financial stakeholder, with individual creativity honoured through shared income and royalties. From fabric selection to every final stitch, each piece is created with deep care, purpose, and respect for the hands that make it.
