This piece is called Yoka Dandjoo; which means ‘Women Together‘ in Noongar. The artwork represents Women Connecting to Country and is inspired by my Mum, Nan, Aunties, Cousins and all the women in my family coming together in Djilba Season. It features Eucalypt and Bottlebrush blossoms, green and blue tones showing the green-ness of the land and full rivers, lakes and streams from the rains in Makuru Season. With shades of pink, purple, red and yellow to symbolise all of our wildflowers in bloom during Djilba Season.
