Kaya Koolangka, meet Bamba—Bamba is the Noongar name for Sting Ray.

This beautifully designed plush invites koolangka (children) to connect with and learn about Barna (Country) through touch, story, and imagination. As little hands trace the bright, contemporary patterns, children can follow Bamba’s journey, creating meaningful connections to culture and place.

Bamba’s design features water-inspired artwork in calming shades of blue and green, reflecting the Wardan/Maambakoort (ocean). The figures along the journey line across Bamba’s belly and tail symbolise movement through kep (water), sharing a visual story of connection and travel.

Soft and comforting, Bamba is perfect for cuddles and quiet moments. Inside, a gentle rattle adds a sensory element to delight younger children, supporting early exploration through sound and touch. As they play, children can imagine djiba-djobaliny (swimming) and the soothing rhythm of waves along the coastline.

Aligned with EYLF outcomes, Bamba encourages sensory development, imagination, and a growing connection to culture, storytelling, and the natural world.
