The caxixi (ka-shee-shee) is a traditional percussion instrument originating from Africa and South America. Each instrument is made from a woven basket with a solid base, filled with recycled plastic beads to create rich, natural sounds. Designed for easy handling, these instruments are ideal for young children to explore sound and movement.

Like other percussion instruments, caxixi are played by shaking, helping children develop an understanding of rhythm, dynamics, and musical expression. Different sounds can be created by shaking the beads against the woven sides or the solid base, allowing for varied tones and sensory exploration.
