These handcarved canoe shaped boats are made from a single piece of light weight timber. They resemble some of the first canoes which were made by the Aboriginal people, and other indigenous people across the world, they were used for hunting and fishing.

These 3 canoes are perfect to add to any small world play, water course, scientific experiment or to engage in discussions about culture and history.

Their addition to the play space will invite children to engage in creative and imaginative play, enhancing language and social skills. When used in water the canoes will enhance the learning platform about the amazing properties and wonders of water - sinking and floating, motion and speed, tipping and pouring. Through discussion and play children can connect with our country and our First Nations People while learning about the history of the world.

Our timber products are lovingly hand crafted by artisans using the whole tree to ensure there is minimal wastage. For this reason, there will be natural variations across timber products in our range including grain pattern, wood checks and presence of natural properties such as knots and tannins. Over time variations may appear with more prominence, rarely impacting usability.

Should your product need revitalising at any stage we recommend a light sanding and using natural, non toxic and child safe sealants such as tung oil and beeswax to extend the life of your product.
