Sacred Knowledge: Connecting the Dots Through Culture

It all begins at the centre—with us—surrounded by mob, community, and our 65,000-year-old culture. Gathered around the edge of the water, we observe its flow, carrying with it Culture, Connection, and Sacred Knowledge. Sitting by this sacred river, we absorb its energy—its healing power and profound connection that runs deep within our spirit.

This enriching river is alive with songlines, traditions, dance, song, art, Country, and culture. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage flows along its shores, represented by the vibrant golden yellow wattle tree and the fiery red hibiscus bush. These bright colours symbolize the richness of our past and present.

Immersed in the Dreamtime, we honour our 65,000-year-old heritage, guided by the spirits of our ancestors who have brought us to this present day.

At the heart of it all is the community—Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people united, sitting together as one. The Sacred River of Knowledge carries countless stories, songs, art, dance, and connections. It cascades into the present, where we gather to share, learn, teach, yarn, and embrace the essence of our sacred culture.

The dots along the ocean symbolize the unbroken lineage passed down to each of us. They hold our Dreamtime, songlines, and spirit—our sacred history that flows through the community and connects us all.

The six circles represent the thousands of years of history and the enduring guidance of our ancestors. These are the meeting places of generations, the strength of our songlines, and the essence carried within us today.

The golden wattle symbolizes the Aboriginal people of this land, while the red hibiscus represents the Torres Strait Islander people. The three circle dots within each stand for the knowledge, heritage, and spirit that the women of Connecting the Dots Through Culture bring to their communities. These circles also pay tribute to the strong women leading this initiative.
