Noongar Snake Rainstick Bamboo

Beautifully handpainted by emerging Noongar artist Simone Hills, each rainstick is a unique piece that celebrates culture, creativity, and connection to Country. Simone, who has a background in special needs education support, is passionate about sharing her culture through her artwork.

Having grown up in the Lower Great Southern region on Minang boodja, Simone’s family roots are Ballardong and Yamatji. She has spent the past 10 years living on Whadjuk boodja in Perth, and her work reflects the stories, landscapes, and cultural connections of these places.

Each rainstick is individually crafted and painted, making every piece one of a kind, with natural variations in design and detail. Perfect for sensory play, music exploration, and cultural learning, these rainsticks invite children to engage their senses while fostering an appreciation for Indigenous art and storytelling.
