Alpara Seeds Blue Outfit

Designed to fit a 38cm doll, this beautiful outfit features Alpara Seed Blue artwork by Aboriginal artist Rosie Bird Mpetyane. The intricate design depicts the alpara (rat-tail plant) seeds through rich shades of blue, periwinkle, and turquoise layered across a deep black background, celebrating connection to Country, storytelling, and artistic tradition.

Rosie Bird Mpetyane, from the Utopia Region of Central Australia, began painting in 1989 under the guidance of her father, aunties, and uncles. Alongside her artistic practice, Rosie also works as a teacher’s aide at Akaye School, supporting children in learning both English and Anmatyerre language.

Each outfit is thoughtfully sewn by a collective of artisans in Indonesia who work within a community-led cooperative focused on empowerment, sustainable creativity, kindness, and collaboration. Through slow, intentional craftsmanship, the cooperative provides meaningful employment opportunities for women while honouring individual creativity through shared income and royalties.
