Celebrate the rich traditions of Bali with this beautifully crafted Cultural Doll Pair, designed to introduce children to the meaning, symbolism, and beauty behind Balinese life and ceremonies.

In Bali, clothing is more than decoration—it reflects identity, spirituality, and community. These dolls are dressed in traditional ceremonial attire often worn during temple visits, festivals, and important life events. The intricate fabrics and colours are inspired by garments such as the kebaya and kamen (sarong), while the detailed headdresses echo those worn during offerings and dances that honour the gods.

Balinese culture is deeply rooted in Hindu beliefs, where daily life includes rituals of gratitude, balance, and respect for nature and spirit. Through play, children can begin to explore these ideas—learning how offerings are made, how ceremonies bring communities together, and how art, dance, and dress all hold special meaning.

This doll pair offers more than imaginative play—it opens the door to cultural storytelling. Children can create their own narratives around festivals, temple visits, and traditional dances, building empathy and global awareness in a hands-on, engaging way.

These dolls are made by a women's cooperative based in Indonesia. The cooperative was established in 2006, by Ukke. Driven by the desire to help disadvantaged women in her village, she specifically focused on single mothers,  those recovering from domestic violence and those with physical ailments that don't allow employment in the general community.

The cooperative has now also established a natural dying and ecoprint service to outreach to other artisans to create in the garden. A peaceful place where permaculture is used to provide harmony to the soul a place for healing.
