Coolamon Ring Pad - Natural Tones

This Coolamon Ring Pad  was traditionally made of possum and/or plaited human hair, grass leaves or feathers. It was placed on the women's heads to act as a comfort between the woman's head and the coolamon when carrying heavy objects or traveling over large distances.

Use this resource to encourage exploration of language, engineering and ingenuity in the context of Australian First Nations Peoples.
