Montessori Interlocking Wooden Disks

A version of a classic Montessori style resource that can be introduced to infants from 3 months of age!

These two perfectly sized, smooth hand crafted interlocking discs are made from a tree branch and have a natural raw edge, they lock together perfectly and are finished with a coat of orange oil, making them safe for infants to use.

Interlocking discs are used in Montessori teaching to benefit children in developing fine and large motor control, concentration, eye hand co-ordination and physical co-ordination. At 3 months of age children still have a reflective grasp which will make it intuitive for them to grasp the interlocking discs. By using both hands, both sides of the infant's brain are stimulated simultaneously. Interlocking discs are the perfect resource for infants to practice hand-to-hand transfer and cognitive development.
